In this series, God Speaks, we explore the God who is not distant or silent, but active, personal and present. Beginning with Jesus, the clearest revelation of God’s voice, we’ll look at how God speaks through Scripture, prophecy, our hearts, community and creation. As we grow in prayer, this series invites us not only to speak to God, but to slow down, listen and respond with faith.

This series is similar to the Revelation series from 2025, in that it has been a long time coming. The Street has a cessationist history when it comes to the Spirit - we’ve come a long way, but still have a long way to go to becoming a church that is fully Word and fully Spirit. One of things we long for is that the story of our church would not be able to be explained without the powerful ministry of the Holy Spirit through people. We eagerly desire our people to minister powerfully to one another through each person’s unique mix of spiritual gifts. We have a sense of where we want to get to and what the next steps are, so now is the time to stretch a little in our teaching and our practice.

The symbol of the cross is everywhere. It dangles at the bottom of gold necklaces; it’s found on the side of roads adorned with flowers; tattooed on celebrities and athletes; it’s the emblem for NGOs, ambulances and hospitals. It’s become so common that its original meaning has long been forgotten…

The Sermon on the Mount is Jesus’ radical message for his followers to live counter-culturally. It shocked his audience in first-century Israel, and its message continues to go against the grain 2,000 years later. If a church - if Christians - have lost their impact; if they’re wondering what difference following Jesus makes in their lives, the Sermon on the Mount is an invitation to return to Jesus’ essential teachings and to see our faith and our lives with fresh eyes.

One of the most challenging aspects of being a follower of Jesus is the other followers of Jesus around us! While each of us are being transformed to become more like Jesus, none of us is the finished product yet, and so we are going to bump into each other from time to time. And God expects that. Which is why around 60 times in the New Testament, Jesus or the apostles tell us to do or feel something towards “one another.” There is clearly something dear to God’s heart about how his children will relate to each other, and it all flows from a place of love. As we begin 2026, let this be a year defined by how we love each other well as family.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…” These are perhaps some of the most well-known words of Isaiah’s prophecy of the coming Messiah - Jesus - but what is less well-known is the meaning of the words that followed.

Do you ever get lost for words when it comes to prayer? There are things you want to say but are unsure how to say them? The good news is that the Bible is full of prayers that have become timeless aids for believers throughout the generations. We can borrow their words, we can learn from their stories to enable us to pray to our Father in heaven with greater love, deeper humility and eager expectation that He will answer!

Revelation can feel confusing or overwhelming, but at its core, it’s a message of hope. This series delves into the final book of the Bible and the promise that Jesus is in control, evil will be held accountable, and the story concludes with restoration, not chaos.

In the end, it’s all about Jesus.

We’re a church on a mission to help people become total followers of Jesus Christ. And we have a big vision—a vision to see 1% of unchurched Wellington become baptised followers of Jesus Christ. We’re going to take opportunities to bring everyone from all our gatherings in one place, together. We’ll pray, worship, share stories of God at work, and be filled up to be sent out on mission in our city.

Easter is marked in the calendar every year—four days off, a long weekend! Chocolate eggs and hot cross buns! The thing is, the story of the cross can become too familiar to us, and we run the risk of becoming bored or uninspired by the most incredible story in history.

Our vision is about becoming a disciple-making movement transforming Wellington and the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. But what tangible steps will it take to reach that vision, and what will the world look like when we see it come to fruition?

Prayer has been a growing focus for The Street over the last few years—24/7 Prayer, the establishment of a permanent prayer room, and more prayer groups beginning—and it’s clear the Lord is calling us to lean into and depend on it more. The Oswald Chambers quote is proving true: “Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work.”

This Christmas, we look at the different heralding messages the angels gave leading up to Jesus’ birth: What did they require of the listeners then, and what does it now require of us? “The Christmas Invitation” is a simple but clear series in which we will hear God's ultimate invitation through his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is the penultimate installment in the extended Pillars series. So far we’ve covered the Bible (‘Bestseller’), Origins, Trinity and Salvation. These are the core pillars of belief the Church is built on. We come now to look at the church herself. We have previously taught on the nature of the church through metaphors: bride, body, temple, family, but this series is more focused on a practical view of the church - what is the church? How am I part of it? What am I to do in it? The series will help believers better understand what it means to be part of the church.

In Part 3 of our Acts series, we look at the results of the early church being scattered beyond Israel’s borders. Empowered by the Holy Spirit and scattered by persecution, the disciples see that God is at work, moving them beyond ethnic Israel and reaching non-Jewish people with the good news of Jesus Christ. They grasp the mission God has for them; they realise they’ve been sent.

The start of a new year presents a prime opportunity for envisioning people for the year ahead. We have come out of a long and tiring season of figuring out whether meeting locally is where God is leading us and whether we have the right leadership in the right places - and now we can take meaningful steps forward. This year isn’t a year of discerning; it’s a year of action.

Where is God in the day-to-day details of our lives? Does He care about my job? Does He care about my disappointments? These are questions we all ask from time to time. We wonder how interested God is in the little things of our lives. Ruth’s is the story of God working away in the unseen, a God who cares about our suffering, who takes an interest in our work, in our character, and in how we treat those around us. God is sovereign over every detail of our lives and weaving it all together for our good and His glory.
