“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…” These are perhaps some of the most well-known words of Isaiah’s prophecy of the coming Messiah - Jesus - but what is less well-known is the meaning of the words that followed. Wonderful Counselor. Mighty God. Everlasting Father. Prince of Peace. Are these names given to Jesus? Titles conferred on him? Or are they descriptions of his character?
