Description
Easter is marked in the calendar every year—four days off, a long weekend! Chocolate eggs and hot cross buns! The thing is, the story of the cross can become too familiar to us, and we run the risk of becoming bored or uninspired by the most incredible story in history. So, let’s take a look at the cross through the eyes of people who were actually there. What was it like to be Mary of Bethany, anointing Jesus with the most expensive perfume available? What about Peter and his incredibly public moment of failure? Or the soldiers who mocked the King of Kings and nailed him to a cross? Let’s look at Easter through their eyes.
Easter, Part 3: Soldiers & Jesus // Ryan Wilson
April 20, 2025 - Ryan WilsonThey were the ones who mocked him, beat him and spat on him before literally nailing Jesus to the cross. And yet Jesus still cries out, "Father, forgive them." What did the cross and empty tomb look like from the soldiers' perspective? We celebrate Resurrection Sunday by seeing just how much like the soldiers we are, and how God's amazing grace, through Jesus Christ, is sufficient to save them and us.

Easter, Part 2: Peter & Jesus // Jamie Rodwell
April 13, 2025 - Jamie RodwellPeter experienced more highs and lows than any other disciple. He spent three years with Jesus, made an incredible profession of faith, walked on water... and then denied even knowing him right before the cross. But that wasn’t the end for Peter—he experienced the amazing grace of Jesus. What do we learn from Peter from all this, and how do we see Jesus’s love for us in how he treats Peter?
