If you are engaged or plan to be soon, just a little reminder we have a free pre-marriage course with Biblically based content, practical advice and online video teaching to help prepare you for this time of transition
Together will be a significant morning as all six of our Locations gather in one place.
We are praying that this would be a moment of powerful encounter with the Lord as we worship Him together as one church. Save the date now - 18th May - registrations open March 30th
Simon and Jenny are committed to continuing the journey as we learn about Te Ao Māori and what this means for us as a church whānau. This is not a quick, neat project we are racing through, but rather a longer journey of relationship building, learning and prayerful consideration.
As part of the refugee resettlement project, we have had the opportunity to connect with iwi and begin a relationship to learn and understand Te Ao Maōri, especially as it relates to the areas of Wellington where we as The Street Church gather.
The format of this will consist of a number of haerenga (journey) around Wellington on Sunday afternoons over 2025 and potentially into 2026.
The first opportunity is Sunday 6th April 1pm - 5pm (Location TBC, but will be somewhere in the Petone region)
If you would be interested in deepening your understanding and walking this learning journey with Simon and Jenny, please email mel.lienert@thestreet.org.nz by 23rd March. There is a maximum capacity for the group, so once all the available spaces are filled the group will be closed.
Click here to read about Ali, who will be leading these haerenga.

The Lord's Prayer, A Voice in the Night, Earthquake in Prison. Kids Zone Junior uses The Beginner’s Bible. They finish the month with a week on the Fruit of the Spirit.
A few of us are going to be reading Sam Allberry's book One with my Lord together.
Ross Jones leaves the staff team on March 27th to enjoy a well earned retirement. He has been diligently working in the Property Manager role since 2018.
Ross has been an incredible asset to The Street in this role. He has fulfilled his job with high integrity and an evangelistic heart for everyone who comes through the properties. Ross has a wonderful sense of humour and will be missed by the team. We are very thankful for Ross and are pleased to be able to continue enjoying his and Sarah’s company as they attend East.
If you know Ross personally - you can send him an encouragement and a farewell message to ross.jones@thestreet.org.nz
Our Vision is to become a disciple-making movement transforming Wellington and the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.
But what will it take to achieve this vision, and what will our church look like when we get there?
Over the month of March, Simon and Jenny will lead us through a series called Multiply. It's an exciting and inspiring series about the future and the part we can all play in seeing the vision become a reality. These are weeks you do not want to miss.
Nelson and Rachel are with YWAM in Mazatlan and came back to NZ at the end of 2024. They welcomed Lani Neve into their family at the end of January and plan to return to Mexico around the end of March. Here is a video sharing about the work they are involved in with their different ministries in Mexico.
We are celebrating another incredible answer to prayer!
In December 2024 Emma Roche was appointed as the Location Pastor for Night. Given the busy end of the year period, we left a pause before now sharing a little bit about Emma and her heart for this new role and the Night community. Emma will continue on part-time in the Children's Pastor role.
Please continue praying for Emma and Isaac, and the Night Location as they transition into this new season.
Do you have a child preparing for or is a junior in primary school this year?
We are currently piloting a new course, written specifically for families heading into the school years.
The transition periods in family life have a profound impact on discipleship and this course is designed to guide you through some of what you can expect, so you can prepare well. The course is video based and can be completed at home at a time that suits your rhythm.
Gateway Baptist have asked us to extend an open invite to all families to their event at Kilbirnie Rec Centre. This is what they say:
We have hired Kilbirnie Rec Centre on Sunday 2 March, 2.30 – 4.30. This is an open invitation for the local churches to come and join us. We would like you to share this information with families in your churches and invite them along. You are also most welcome to join in the fun. Phil in the past has come along and put on his skates and shot some hoops with the youth and children. We see this as a great opportunity for church families to come together, for the children to see the church family is bigger than just those in their own church, and it’s a great afternoon of fun.

Leadership development is an important part of how we make disciples. Multiplying leaders ensures the ministry of the future is equipped to thrive.
We are excited to welcome Em Napier to the staffing team as an intern for 2025. Em will work with Geneva and Emma in the Central Children's Team.
Hi, I’m Em and I’ve been a member of The Street Church for 7 years, serving as Mt Vic’s Children’s Ministry Local Lead for the last 17 months. Originally born in England, I have called Wellington my home for 29 years and love exploring the great outdoors here and around New Zealand on foot and bike. For the last 18 years I have been blessed to be a stay-at-home mum/home-schooling mum, a journey which brought both my son and I to our faith in Jesus.
As a child I heard Bible stories but I wasn’t encouraged to explore faith any further. After decades of mental health struggles, I finally found my worth and joy in the Lord and these life experiences have given me the passion to share our greatest treasure with children so that they can experience the fullness of life with God from an early age.
I’m looking forward to learning about and contributing to the Central Children’s Ministry’s work and growing in my faith this year through the opportunities that God provides.
