We continue our series on the skills needed to study the Bible well. Today, we are looking at how the Old and New Testaments are distinct from one another and why each part is important in understanding God's big plan for His creation. We learn the difference between Old Testament commands and New Testament commands and how they relate to us as followers of Jesus today.
Due to Round the Bays, we will have no vehicle access to St Pat’s College today., so we are gathering in homes to watch the online service instead.
Mosaic is a women's Bible study and encourages deeper connection and study with women across multiple generations.

We have made kids zone videos available on the website, to encourage the discipleship of children continuing at home!
Each week, on the News section of the website, will be a post about the Kids Zone teaching. It will include a version of the bumper video script to give an outline and a link to the video teaching for the week. When people click to watch for the first time, they need to request a password. Missions is a big part of who we are as a church. We love to support missionaries who have answered a call to go out and make disciples full-time.
Rachel was part of The Street community and felt called to Missions. She did her DTS with YWAM in Mazatlan in Mexico, and then met Nelson while at the base. They got married at the beginning of last year. They are continuing in Mazatlan and are involved in a number of different ministries at the base.
Today we dive into a nine week Bible series where we will be learning skills to help us study and read the Bible. We start with reading verses in context. We will learn that reading only one verse might trip us up and give a different meaning to the verse than God intended. We can combat this by reading the verses before and after to give more context to the verse.
Due to Round the Bays, we will have no vehicle access to St Pat’s College on Sunday 18th Feb. We could have asked everyone to walk/run/cycle to church but instead we will meet in homes to watch the sermon, and enjoy some kai together. This is short notice because we only realised this week, sorry!
Matt Rowan will be speaking in the second part of our Wholehearted series, all we need you to do is let us know you’re coming so we can arrange houses for everyone to meet in. Please register nice and quickly so we have as much time as possible to arrange enough houses for us to meet in. IMPORTANT - if you would be willing to host people at your house, please indicate this when you register, thank you. Hopefully enough people will be able to host to accommodate everyone that is able to come!
It’s super easy, just register for the event on the Church Center App or via this link and we will sort the rest.
Any questions please contact jenny.gill@thestreet.org.nz or ask your Life Group leader.

This year we're planning some fun sessions for our youth at East. These will be geared around deeper connections with each other and with God. We are planning to do these more or less monthly on a Sunday after church, so that we can do lunch and then some discussion or a more social activity.
If you have a heart for our youth and would like to contribute by being part of their spiritual walk with Jesus, please contact Timothy Teng on 021520527 or timothytwe@gmail.com.
We're looking for people who would love to be part of this, regardless of how much time you can commit this year. You would be welcome even to just be part of our Whatsapp group so that you can be praying for our youth, or to take a more active role and join or lead some of our sessions.
The start of a new year presents a prime opportunity for envisioning people for the year ahead. In our next teaching series, we're exploring the five areas in which Scripture calls us to be wholehearted. Check out this short promo video from our Senior Pastor, Simon Gill, as he shares the rationale behind it. Starting on Sunday 11th Feb.
How do we interact with and love our neighbour when we hold differing values? How do we raise children to be confident in who God has made them to be? Traditional ways of communicating have often taken a defensive or argumentative approach. Jesus was never on the defensive. This seminar will look at how Christians can be confident in their faith while maintaining an openness to others who hold different perspectives and values.
The wonderful Richard Black, founder of Mindhealth, will dive into these questions over a 6-hour seminar. The seminar is targeted at parents but will be fruitful for anyone involved in raising or working with children or for adults wondering about these questions for themselves in their community or workplace.
