Introducing Keegan Harris
Over the last year or so we have been asking you to join us in prayer for leaders to succeed Simon and me at East.
While East is our church home, we need to be able to hand over the day-to-day responsibilities of leading this location to someone else to free us up to invest fully in our roles as Senior Pastors.
With all of this in mind, we have some exciting news…
Simon has been walking alongside Keegan Harris from our Night Location as he discerns a sense of call to pastoral ministry.
A few weeks ago, Simon approached him to ask whether he would consider coming to East as an Associate Location Pastor. After a process of discernment, including being interviewed by our team of local elders, Keegan accepted our offer.
This is exciting news and a huge answer to prayer.
That said, it’s important to be clear on a few things.
Simon and I are not leaving East.
Simon and I will remain as Location Pastors for now.
He will work alongside us for the next 1-2 years and, over time will be able to take on more responsibilities.
This will create space for him and us to discern whether he thinks God is calling him to lead East permanently or lead somewhere else.
Our heart is to help develop him whatever God is calling him to.
Please be praying for Keegan with us as he starts this week. Please also be praying for the provision of another job for Keegan to fit around the 12 hours he will be doing with us.
