Events

Kids Zone

This Sunday, 21st December, Kids Zone is a school holiday session (Veggie Tales or similar), and it will also be our final Kids Zone for the year. We start back with the rest of the church on Sunday 18 January for our eastern suburbs combined service, hosted by us.

As we sign off for the year, we are also excited to share that from 1 February 2026, Jess Gill will join the Kids Zone local lead team alongside Timothy Teng and Caroline Woon. Jess has served as both a Kids Zone director and team member over the last few years at The Street East. She will take on the local lead role for our Kids Zone preschool age group, while Timothy will continue to work with our school age kids and Caroline will keep supporting our Kids Zone health and safety (amongst other helpful tasks). We will pray for Jess as she begins this new chapter in our Sunday service on 1 February.

In the meantime, here is a short self-intro from Jess:

Kia ora everyone, I am so looking forward to joining our Kids Zone local lead team in 2026! I’ve loved directing and serving in Kids Zone over the past few years and am so excited to have this opportunity to serve in a new way! I love working with children so much, especially in a space like Kids Zone because I get to watch kids begin to know Jesus for themselves and see church as a space for them and not just their parents! Many of you will already know me, so if you see me around and have any questions, feel free to send them my way!

Thank you to the whole church for a great year, for praying for our kids, and we wish everyone a safe and well-rested summer.

Kids Zone Team!

Life Groups

Life Groups really are the heart of our church. They are small groups of people who can encourage one another as we all seek to follow Jesus together. They are spaces where you have the opportunity to get to know people on a deeper level than will ever be possible at a Sunday service. They are places where you can dig into the Bible together and pray for one another. If you are not in a Life Group and you’d like to be, please get in touch and we would love to help you find one.

Rightnow Media

Did you know that anyone that is part of The Street Church can have access to an amazing collection of Christian video resources at Rightnow Media? It contains all sorts of goodness for kids and adults alike. If you don’t already have a login click on the link to get set up and enjoy!

Baptism

Jesus clearly instructed us that when we repent and choose to follow him, baptism is the first step in that new life of following him. If you haven’t been baptised and would like to be, please get in touch and we’d love to talk to you about it. Email east@thestreet.org.nz or talk to your life group leader or Simon and Jenny.

Giving

Giving financially to your local church is a Biblical principle that is key to training each of our hearts in generosity and is a declaration that money is not our master. The money you give here is used to lead and operate this location of The Street, but also more widely to support The Street as it seeks to reach Wellington with the gospel. It also helps support several national ministries and international missions.
If you give financially to The Street; thank you. If you don’t yet give financially and would like to find out more about how you can start, check out the information below.
