King Joash: Living the Double Life

Sunday 21 June 2009 AM & PM

Speaker: James Rees-Thomas

Series: The Lives of Kings

Passage: 2 Chronicles 24:1-27

Description

King Joash spent 6 years of the first 7 years of his life hidden, under the protection of his uncle, Jehoida the priest, to avoid his murderous grandmother, Athaliah. The mentoring relationship between Joash and Jehoida spelt success for the reign of King Joash, but when Jehoida died, the Kingdom of Judah started to unravel. This sermon draws insights from the life of King Joash.
