The Kitchen Launch

Next Sunday morning the Kitchen will officially launch into functional service!

A fantastic team of people have put their hands up to manage the kitchen and are currently sorting out the logistics of running a cafe style kitchen that can assist us in the vision of creating community at church.  Imagine the impact of being able to sit down after church with a great cup of coffee and a muffin to connect with someone you have just met, or to be able to talk with friends about the message you have just heard, or to be able to explain to the person you have just invited to church what the Christian faith is all about.  This is now becoming a reality.

So next Sunday, which, by the way is Mothers’ Day, the cafe will be open.  You will be able to purchase coffee and food, and continue to build community here at The Street.

Having the kitchen up and running is really exciting!  Here are a couple of keys to the success of this venture for you to have a think about:

  1. For the kitchen to work we need help.  The team is looking for people with a passion to serve, to get involved in the team and make it happen - why not talk to them next week and discover how you can get involved? At this stage we are looking at running the cafe on a fortnightly basis.  Any increase or decrease in this frequency will be dependent on having enough people serving in this ministry.
  2. We are now on the adventure of equipping the kitchen.  We have started with a bare minimum of gear but need to purchase everything from stirring spoorst to coffee machines to make this work.  There are opportunities to sponsor kitchen equipment and you can make your donation or seek more information next week as you enjoy your coffee.

Blessings,

Nick and Sarah
