Inter-National Needs

IN Network is commited to bringing the Good News of salvation in Jesus, to boys and girls as well as to men and women. We believe that to only change the outward circumstances in a child’s life is not enough and so all the children sponsored through the IN Child Assistance Programme are given the opportunity to hear the gospel message. Jesus Himself said that no-one should prevent a child coming to Him and so in Africa, Asia, South America, the Pacific and Eastern Europe we are doing all we can, through the faithful giving of the children’s sponsors, to bring them to Him.

The IN Network is an idea whose time has come.

It began as a vision in 1974 when Ray Harrison, then World Director of Youth for Christ International, attended the World Conference on Evangelism in Lausanne, Switzerland. There he felt God directing him to a new and wider form of ministry.

God led Ray to establish the IN Network with its distinctive of helping Christians serve God in their own countries. A dedicated and able team joined him, working in partnership for the cause of Christ and the gospel worldwide.

The primacy of national ministry was reaffirmed at Lausanne II in Manila in July 1989.

The IN Network ministry comprises two groups:

The supply-line countries, who encourage, equip, inspire, support and pray for front-line partners, are autonomous, each with its own board of directors or trustees. These are: Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United States of America. There are growing support centers in Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia.

The front-line countries, who evangelize, disciple and undertake community development in their countries, number over 26 and serve local partners. These include: Bangladesh, Bougainville, Burkino Faso, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Nepal, North Africa, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Romania, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia.

Because the IN Network has such a small administrative staff, overhead costs are kept very low, and an overwhelming percentage of each dollar given is used directly for meeting needs of people around the world.
