Posted Wed, February 20, 2008Being a man is more than what you do; it is a state of mind. The Street City Church men’s ministry is all about strengthening you as a man of God. It may take the form of prayer times, Bible study, camps or gatherings. Whatever the format, the desire is that you link up with other men and encourage each other to be all that God has planned you to be.
Prayer groups, social stuff and a whole lot more. Read more…

This thought has been passed on by some of the men in the church as an encouragement to all guys to live the kind of life Jesus wants you to live. If you have a similar encouraging thought email it to Nick Field.
Matthew 18:20 says, “where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”
The search for purity more often than not is elusive. There is no one formula that works for everyone. Reading books, praying prayers, making vows, and fasting more often than not end in frustration.
Strongholds are kept alive and well through one’s shame in disclosing their failures to those close to them. One of Satan’s favourite tricks is to whisper to us that we are alone in our sin, that we couldn’t possibly share our failings, breeding a festering quagmire of sin and shame. The devil’s most effective tool is nullified when we bring out into the light our secrets, and realise that together we share the same struggles. The taboo surrounding sexual sin is a major contributor to our repeated failures.
Accountability: habitual, honest, painful, and sometimes humiliating is the crux, the secret, the key to freedom. A commitment to meet, share, pray, and to give your absolute everything is vital; it may mean a phone call at 3am or a regular 6am meeting each week.
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another”and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25
