Beyond First Touch!
We are a family. That’s not just something that we like to say, it’s God’s own description of us. A family. A community. A body. A group of people which will reject the boundaries of age, income, culture and personality. We are a family and this year it’s all about getting better at including and caring for one another, beyond that first hello.
This year we have a couple of fun Guess Who’s Coming For Dinner nights – don’t leave it everyone else to go along, get involved! On top of that there’s picnics and barbeques, Frendz events, women’s events, men’s events, youth events, student events – events for everyone. We’re growing a family and no ones’ going to be left out.
So let’s open our homes to each other – in fact – let’s open our lives! Let’s refuse to choose to hang out with people who are “just like us” and let’s welcome diversity and difference. Let’s agree together that it’s just not ok for someone amongst us to be lonely or left out. And let’s determine that no one will show up on Sunday – or at any other time for that matter - and not be warmly welcomed by this family, by us. Together, let’s do community brilliantly!
Freedom to Live!
The most supernatural way to live is to be radically dependent on God. We believe that spiritual growth comes first and foremost from a desire to know God better. As the Word and the Spirit transform our lives we discover the type of life that Jesus called us to, an unleashed life, free to totally follow Jesus.
To help us grow we will be teaching about life changing topics such as worship, generosity, faith and holiness. Our life group ministry will support you in your spiritual growth and there are many ministry opportunities for you to serve in that will stretch you and further deepen your dependency on and growth in Christ.
So let’s embark on the adventure of lives unleashed, and see God do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine according to his power that is at work in us.
Our City, Our Time!
This year we will rise to the challenge of taking every opportunity to reach out and introduce people to Jesus Chris. Every ministry of The Street will be thinking strategically about how to further the impact of the gospel in Wellington and every person at The Street will be encouraged, equipped and empowered to share the hope of Christ in our communities. Additionally, we are committed to calling people to respond to the gospel of Jesus at every Sunday service, morning and night this year and to have service invitation cards being distributed throughout Wellington every week.
This is our time! The ground has been so well prepared by prayer and investment through the Greg Laurie Harvest event, and now it’s time to keep on reaping. Jesus says to us, “The fields are ripe for harvest.” We have been praying to God that He will compel workers to get out into the harvest – and to reap!
Wellington is our city. This is our time.
