Thanks for checking us out. Our desire is to share God’s love in such a way that people will exchange ordinary living for an extraordinary life through a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Helping People become total followers of Jesus Christ. (Mission Statement, 1998)
Being a part of ministry at The Street City Chruch is about team. Our witness and impact will only be as good as our commitment to the Lord and to each other. That means that what you do matters. It matters to the Lord, it matters to those you serve and it matters to those you are to reach.
The challenge in our ministry, and personal lives, is to live as people who are defined by our commitments to:
Purity and Holiness - We are to have submitted, Spirit-filled hearts, knowing that apart from Christ we can do nothing (John 15:1-8). A yielded heart is a powerful tool in God’s hands and when we are convinced that our personal purity and spiritual maturity are the greatest gifts we can bring to each other we will gladly seek God and submit to his Spirit daily.
Unity – We will pursue honourable and loving relationships with our families, friends, co-workers, neighbours and in the church. We will seek to be at peace with all people (Romans 12:18) and we will live in holiness and Godly sincerity.
Loyalty – We show our loyalty to the Lord’s mission for The Street by contributing our time, talents and finances. In valuing wise stewardship we are responsive and committed to the opportunities that the Lord gives us, acknowledging that Jesus said, “to whom much is given, much is expected” (Luke 12:48). Therefore, we are people who can be trusted to serve to the best of our abilities.
Servanthood – We will seek to serve more than to be served. When Jesus washed his disciples’ feet he taught that we are always to have a servant mentality (Philippians 2:1-11). This means we will serve others, fulfilling our commitments, exercising good communication and always thinking about how we can fulfil our personal responsibility to make things better for others.
