The Street
Auditorium
Because we like to create an intimate atmosphere at our services, we remove approximately 250 chairs for our Night service. We need help to take away chairs, and then replace them in the evening, after the service. The more people we get signing up to help out, the faster this is able to be finished.
Time commitment: 5:00-5:15pm and 8:00-8:15pm.
Lighting
If you have any experience with lighting, or want to learn how to design and operate the lights during the services, then this is the position for you.
Time commitment: Dependent on service needs + setup/pack-down
Dance Team
Can you dance? Would you be willing to use your talent in one of our services? If you’re able to dance or choreograph, we’d love to hear from you! We love to incorporate the creative elements into our services.
Time commitment: As required + practice time.
Connections
Do you love meeting new people? Are you friendly and approachable? Connections is the ministry where you connect with people and endeavour to make them feel welcome to church. You will also usher people to their seats and help to collect the offering. There is also some set-up and pack-down required before and after the service. The Connections Team are vital in ensuring the service runs smoothly, and most importantly, people feel welcome as soon as they enter the building.
Time commitment: Monthly: 4:45-8:45pm
Security
As our night service falls as it gets dark, there is a need to have somebody acting as security during the service to monitor and patrol the foyer and building during our services.
Time commitment: Monthly: 5:45-7:30pm
Graphic Designers
Are you able to use Photoshop? Would you be able to help us on a project-by-project basis? We have a number of events that we run at The Street City Church and there are a number of Design projects that are associated with these. If you would be able to help produce powerpoints, leaflets, flyers, registration forms etc, this is the ministry for you!
Time commitment: Dependent on project
Multimedia
We need people to help run our Mac multimedia systems during our services and to expand the multimedia ministry. If you are interested in video, or other forms of multimedia communication, this is the ministry for you.
Time commitment: Monthly 3:30-7:30pm on Sunday nights or on a project-by-project basis
Ministry Team
We need people to join our ministry team to pray with people during and after our services. Sometimes it will involve praying with those who have accepted the gospel invitation, other times it will be praying with people who have responded to some other invitation in the services. This is a hugely rewarding ministry where you are able to love and bless those around you.
Time commitment: Monthly: 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday Nights
Communion set-up
We’d love to share communion more regularly at Night Church. We need people to set up the trays before the service, and clean them afterwards.
Time commitment: Monthly: 5:30-6:00pm then 7:30-7:45pm
Creative services
Do you have a heart for reaching people with the message of Jesus Christ, and have a talent in a form of communication not usually used in weekly services, e.g. paintings, poetry, dance, drama? You will plan and programme the services, set them up and pack them down. It is a great opportunity to impact our church and wider community.
Time commitment: Dependent on project
Mosaic Set-up & Pack-down
Every Thursday morning women meet here at The Street for a bible study. There is some set-up that needs to get done prior to this, and then once the session has finished. If you’re free on a Tuesday, and able to help move furniture, this would be a great way to bless some of the mums and women in our church.
Time commitment: Weekly: 11:00am-12:00pm every Tuesday
Children’s Ministry Leaders
Our children’s ministry is always looking for people to help run the programmes on a Sunday morning. We have The Ark (0-2), Little Lights (3-4) and Kid’s Street (5-10).
Time commitment: Weekly: 9:30-11:30am every Sunday
Mainly Music Helpers
Every Tuesday morning, The Street City Church hosts Mainly Music for Mums and their pre-schoolers. They always need helpers to run the programme, sort morning tea, or help those mums with a couple of kids.
Time commitment: Weekly: 9:00-11:00am every Tuesday
Video Production Team
From time to time we like to produce videos that relate to our services, so if you’re experienced either in front of, or behind the camera, we need you! Filming, acting, cutting, editing etc.
Time commitment: Dependent on project
Care Meals
As part of our pastoral care for people within our church family, we provide meals for people who’re dealing with life changes such as just having had a baby, illness, a bereavement etc. You will need to provide a meal for the family, and dependent on your ability to do so, deliver it either to them or the church.
Time commitment: On an as needed basis.
Seniors Lunch
Every month we host a luncheon for senior citizens in our church and community. If you could help serve these people their meals, and then chat with them, it’s a great way of blessing the older generation.
Time commitment: Monthly, 11:00am-2pm, Wednesday
Event Helpers
We have a number of events that happen each year that require helpers for that event only, e.g. Soul Spa (women’s event), Octane (men’s event). If you’re able to help set up, or want to be involved with these teams, that would be fantastic.
Time commitment: Dependent on event
Administration Support
As a staff, we’re always grateful to hear from people who are able to help us to keep The Street City Church running as well as it does. This may involve stuffing envelopes, filing or cleaning, but if you have a spare couple of hours, we’d love to hear from you.
